Nigerian singer and comedian Nasboi has once again stirred online discussions after revealing his personal preferences in relationships. Taking to social media, the entertainer was candid about the type of women he is willing to date, making it clear that financial independence is a non-negotiable factor.
In a now-viral post, Nasboi stated, “I ain’t tryna be financially stable to date broke women… Wealthy girls only please.”
The post quickly caught the attention of fans and social media users, generating a mix of support and criticism. Some applauded Nasboi for being upfront about his standards, while others labeled his stance as overly materialistic, sparking a heated debate about dating expectations in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, social commentator Solomon Buchi has also caused an online stir after posting a viral video originally shared by comedian Maraji. The video featured a new father expressing frustration that his wife received most of the attention after childbirth. Buchi weighed in, arguing that men’s emotional needs are often overlooked and proceeded to outline the types of women he believes men should avoid marrying.
His controversial list included:
“Feminists.”
“Women from single parent households who haven’t started the process of healing.”
“Women who saw their fathers abuse their mom and haven’t healed from the internal rage and pain and have let that consume them.”
“Women who are always combative and make everything a gender war.”
“Women who believe they’re princesses and you’re only to serve them.”
“Women who see service in their home as optional.”
“Women who are hyper-focused on career.”
“Women who follow degenerate musicians.”
As expected, reactions poured in from social media users. Odogwunwanyii commented, “Is there something wrong with Solomon Buchi that I don’t know? Dude is a low budget Andrew Tate and he doesn’t even know it.”
@olhabc added, “Buchi nah feminist nah, what’s going on here? Why’s he all of a sudden talking down on the same people he’s always supported on here.”
Others were more humorous or sarcastic. @Prymefactor noted, “But someone married him, despite all the red flags.”
@macw_internatnl wrote, “Instead make you take note, una don dey show yourselves in thousands again under this post dey bark.”
Finally, @iam_kulstar quipped, “90% of Women in Nigerian society gone according to this Solomon Buchi’s list…. So we now have 10% to drag with ourselves… and me a don marry 1. I pity the rest of Una, women don scarce o😂🤣.”
The discussions surrounding Nasboi and Solomon Buchi highlight the growing conversations online about gender roles, dating standards, and societal expectations in Nigeria. While some users agree with their perspectives, many others challenge their views, making these social media debates some of the most trending topics today.
