Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa has debunked claims that her baby daddy is a Muslim, clarifying the origin and meaning of her daughter’s name.

In August, Kemi Filani reported that the former OAP welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Yakira Eliana, at 40. Three days ago, Toke gave fans a glimpse into her daughter’s pink-themed nursery room, sparking conversations online about her family.

In the comment section of the post, a fan speculated that Toke’s daughter’s father might be Muslim because of the name Yakira. The fan wrote:

“I think Yakira’s dad is a Muslim.”

Responding to the comment, Toke surprised many by clarifying that her baby daddy is not Muslim and explaining that Yakira is a Hebrew name. She said:

“He is not. Yakira is a Hebrew name. Beloved, precious and someone of great worth.”

Earlier this year, Toke had discussed her readiness for marriage on her podcast, noting that she would be open to being a second, third, or even fourth wife. She also spoke candidly about being single and childless at 40, admitting that she had considered the lessons of previous marriages and recognized the challenges involved. Despite her experiences, she emphasized that she does not allow herself to dwell in pity.

Toke was previously married to fitness expert Maje Ayinde, but their union ended in 2016 after two years due to adultery. Reflecting on her failed marriage, she revealed how she was often blamed for the divorce, even though her ex-husband fathered a child with another woman. She noted:

“People had different versions of what they thought my marriage was, which left me traumatized as I was the victim.”

The media personality also addressed misconceptions about her attitude toward men and marriage. Some have wrongly labeled her a man-hater or “man basher,” a narrative she strongly rejects. Toke emphasized her love for marriage and her belief in partnership, stating:

“I greatly advocate marriage because 2 is better than 1.”

Toke’s comments on her podcast and social media interactions reflect her commitment to honesty and openness about her personal life, including her journey into motherhood and her approach to relationships. By addressing these misconceptions, she continues to challenge false narratives and educate her fans about the importance of understanding the full context behind public figures’ lives.

Through her candid explanations, Toke has not only clarified her daughter’s heritage and the meaning behind her name but has also reinforced her advocacy for love, marriage, and personal growth. Her transparency continues to resonate with fans who admire her resilience and authenticity.
