Popular Nigerian media personality, Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, better known as Do2dtun, has revealed why he often chooses to respond to online trolls instead of ignoring them like many other celebrities.
According to the energetic on-air personality, engaging trolls directly gives him emotional relief and helps him remain authentic to himself.
In a recent chat shared on social media, Do2dtun explained that replying to online critics allows him to clear his mind and prevents him from bottling up emotions.
He stated that while some people find peace in silence, his peace comes from expressing himself honestly and standing up for what he believes in.
“I’m human before anything else,” he said. “If someone insults me online, I respond the same way I would in person. It clears my chest and keeps me grounded.”
The radio host, known for his bold personality and vibrant energy on air, admitted that life as a public figure comes with constant scrutiny and pressure to remain silent in the face of negativity.
However, he made it clear that the popular “ignore and move on” strategy doesn’t always work for him.
“Staying silent doesn’t always work for me,” he said. “People think celebrities don’t have feelings, but we do. I’d rather express myself than pretend I’m not affected.”
Do2dtun, who has built a strong reputation in the Nigerian entertainment industry, also noted that he’s learned to strike a balance between clapping back and maintaining composure. According to him, his responses are not born out of anger but understanding.
“There are people I just block, but sometimes replying helps,” he explained. “When I talk back, it’s from a place of understanding, not arrogance. As long as my message makes sense and isn’t driven by hate, I’m fine with it.”
The media personality further shared that embracing his truth and being open about his emotions has helped him navigate both personal and public challenges. For him, honesty is part of growth, and pretending to be strong all the time only leads to unnecessary pressure.
“People expect you to stay quiet, but I’ve grown by being honest about my feelings. I don’t fake strength. I deal with things as they come,” he said.
Do2dtun’s revelation comes amid growing conversations about mental health and online bullying in the entertainment industry.
Many celebrities have admitted that trolling takes a toll on their emotional well-being, often forcing them to withdraw from social media.
However, Do2dtun’s approach shows that everyone handles criticism differently. While some prefer silence for peace of mind, others like him find healing in expressing their truth openly. His statement has sparked mixed reactions online, with fans divided over whether celebrities should engage trolls or simply ignore them.
