Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested popular Lagos socialite and club owner, Pretty Mike, during a late-night raid at his nightclub, Proxy Night Club, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The arrest took place in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, after NDLEA operatives stormed the club following credible intelligence about an alleged drug party happening on the premises.

According to a statement released by the NDLEA, the operation was carried out based on detailed surveillance and intelligence reports indicating that the venue had been hosting a rave involving illegal substances.

The agency revealed that operatives had been strategically embedded within the party since around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, before making their move at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 26.

During the raid, over 100 individuals were reportedly arrested and taken into custody for screening. NDLEA operatives also recovered several cartons of suspected illicit substances, including Loud (a potent form of cannabis) and laughing gas, both found on the party premises and in the club’s storage area.

The NDLEA emphasized that the operation was conducted in strict adherence to its Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring minimal disruption while effectively enforcing the law. “Our officers acted on credible intelligence and followed due process.

We remain committed to ensuring that nightclubs and entertainment venues are not turned into drug havens,” the statement read.

Pretty Mike, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and controversial appearances at Lagos social events, was reportedly among those detained for questioning.

The socialite, whose real name is Mike Eze-Nwalie Nwogu, is widely recognized for his eccentric fashion choices and dramatic public entries that often attract social media attention.

While details of his specific involvement in the alleged drug party are yet to be made public, NDLEA officials confirmed that a full investigation is underway.

“All suspects will be profiled, interrogated, and subjected to relevant tests. Anyone found culpable will face prosecution according to the law,” the agency stated.

This incident has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing surprise over Pretty Mike’s arrest, while others commended the NDLEA for its increased vigilance in monitoring the entertainment scene, which has recently been linked to drug-related activities.

As of the time of this report, the NDLEA has yet to officially charge Pretty Mike or any of the suspects to court, pending the outcome of investigations.

However, the agency reiterated its zero-tolerance stance against drug abuse and trafficking, warning club owners and event organizers to ensure their venues do not serve as safe havens for illicit drug use or sales.

The raid marks yet another major operation by the NDLEA in its ongoing campaign to curb the growing menace of drug use in Nigeria’s nightlife and entertainment industry.
