Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has taken to social media to cry out after she was allegedly assaulted by uniformed men, believed to be officials of Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), while carrying out one of her charity outreaches in Lagos.
In a heartfelt post shared on her Instagram page, the actress revealed that she was cooking free meals for homeless and less privileged individuals when the incident occurred. She shared a video showing her bruised hand, expressing deep pain and disappointment over the behavior of the officers
According to Sarah Martins, the officials not only harassed and bullied her but also confiscated all the items she was using to prepare the food including her cooking gas and other utensils.
Quoting her emotional post, she said:
“My heart aches.
Today, as I was cooking free food for the vulnerable and homeless people on the streets of Lagos, like I always do, some uniformed men came there, harassed me, bullied me and took away the food I was cooking, took away my cooking gas and everything I was making free food with.
My only offence was serving love on a plate through my healthy meals.
I am not a chef, and I do not cook for a living.
My heart aches.”
The Asaba-based actress has been known for her humanitarian works, often feeding and supporting the needy through her personal initiatives.
Earlier this month, Sarah Martins received a heartwarming gesture from Cubana Chief Priest’s wife, who gifted her ₦1 million to support her charity project. The actress expressed gratitude, admitting she was left speechless by the generous act.
Similarly, Sarah once recalled how a follower reached out to her via Instagram DM to commend her good works and surprised her with a bag of rice and other food items to encourage her to continue her mission of helping others.
Sarah Martins stated that these gestures have shown her that God continually places kind-hearted people in her life just as she strives to bring smiles to others.
