The list of Nigerian artists submitting their work for consideration at the 2026 Grammy Awards has been made public, highlighting the country’s continued impact on the global music scene.


According to The Grammy Guru, a platform that tracks Grammy submissions and industry news, several of Nigeria’s top musicians have entered their songs and projects for the upcoming awards, with some eyeing multiple categories.


Wizkid leads the submissions this year. The Starboy boss has entered his latest album, Morayo, for both Album of the Year and Best Global Album. His hit single Piece of My Heart has been submitted in the categories of Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best African Music Performance. In addition, Wizkid’s self-directed visual for Kese (Dance) is competing in the Best Music Video category, while his collaboration with Olamide and UK-based rapper Darkoo, Billionaires Club, has been entered for Best African Music Performance.


Burna Boy has also submitted multiple projects for consideration. His album No Sign of Weakness is in the running for Album of the Year and Best Global Album, while his song Love has been entered for Best African Music Performance. Additionally, Burna Boy’s collaboration with French artist Joé Dwèt Filé, titled Kampé III, is competing in the Best Global Music Performance category.


Ayra Starr, another rising star in Nigeria’s music scene, has made her entries as well. Her song Hot Body is submitted for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year, while her collaboration with Wizkid, Gimme Dat, is vying for Best African Music Performance and Best Music Video.


The Recording Academy, responsible for the Grammys, will review all submissions and conduct a vote to determine the official list of nominees. These nominations are expected to be announced in November 2025, setting the stage for an exciting awards season.


In other Grammy-related news, Nigerian superstar Davido has recently joined the Recording Academy as a voting member. This development gives him a direct role in shaping the awards, further highlighting Nigeria’s growing influence on the global music industry.


With some of the country’s biggest stars competing across multiple categories, 2026 promises to be another landmark year for Nigerian music at the Grammys. Fans and industry watchers alike will be eager to see which artists ultimately secure nominations and potentially take home the prestigious awards.
