Popular social media influencer and commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has embarked on his second trip to China in 2025.
Earlier this year, VDM traveled to China, claiming his mission was to expose fraudulent activities involving Chinese manufacturers, suppliers, and Nigerian businesspeople, highlighting how numerous Nigerians have lost substantial sums to these schemes. His initial visit sparked mixed reactions online, with personalities like Seaking describing him as “manipulative.”
On Wednesday, October 1, Nigeria’s Independence Day, VeryDarkMan shared new photos and videos from his flight and arrival in China, offering followers a glimpse into his latest journey.
Explaining the purpose of his latest trip, VDM stated he aims to reconnect with business contacts and generate opportunities for youth across West Africa. This comes in the wake of his recent clash with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in which he accused the agency of confiscating his mobile phone.
In an Instagram update, he wrote:
> “BACK IN CHINA with my brother @china_ross_boss. I need to get back those contacts, need to create those opportunities… GOD go run am. Naija youth get ready, Ghana youth, Cameroon youths, Liberia youths, Sierra Leone youths get ready… West Africa in general, WE MOVE.”
He also posted a video criticizing the Independence Day celebrations, claiming that Nigeria is still not truly free.
