Nigerian politician and businessman Senator Ned Nwoko has reacted to a viral video featuring a young woman rumored to be his new wife. In a detailed statement shared on his Instagram page, Nwoko clarified that he has no personal or private connection with the young lady. He explained that the woman and her team were visiting under the Peace Ambassadors Initiative, led by Ambassador Dr. Adejo Sule.

“A video recently brought to my attention shows a young woman who visited with her team under the Peace Ambassadors Initiative, led by Ambassador Dr. Adejo Sule, and it is now being circulated online with false claims attempting to affiliate me with her. It is unfortunate that social media has become a space where moments are easily distorted for clout and misinformation,” Nwoko stated.

The senator emphasized that photographs taken during the visit were standard practice whenever he receives guests. He added, “During the visit, photographs were taken with members of the delegation, as is customary whenever I receive guests. This is not unusual; even in public places or outdoor events, people often request to take pictures with me, and I oblige. It is, therefore, mischievous and malicious for anyone to exploit such gestures to fabricate false narratives.”

Nwoko issued a stern warning to those spreading the rumors. “Let me state clearly and unequivocally that the news being propagated around her visit is entirely false. I do not have any form of personal or private connection with her. I strongly caution individuals, groups, or media outlets spreading this fabricated story to desist immediately. Any further propagation of this false narrative will attract appropriate legal action. The Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 remains in full force and applies to anyone involved in the deliberate spread of falsehood or defamation in cyberspace.”

This public statement comes amid heightened media attention on Nwoko’s marriage to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels. The couple, who married in 2019, have recently been the center of speculation following claims of domestic disputes. Daniels had previously accused Nwoko of physical and emotional abuse, while Nwoko reportedly alleged that Daniels’ behavior, including substance influence and violent outbursts, contributed to marital strain.

Despite the controversies, reports alleging indicate that the couple has reconciled, with Daniels returning home, suggesting attempts to mend their relationship, although, there is no official report from Regina Daniels to back up the reconciliation speculation aside an old video circulating where Regina Daniels on her knees begging Ned Nwoko.

The recent rumors of Nwoko allegedly marrying an 18-year-old only intensified public scrutiny, prompting him to clarify his stance publicly.

The senator’s statement highlights the challenges public figures face in navigating personal relationships while under the constant lens of social media and public speculation.
