Nollywood actress Habibat Jinad has spoken out following a wave of online attacks from students of actor Lateef Adedimeji. The incident unfolded immediately after Jinad made a post addressing how Lateef, once a close friend, allegedly blocked her and several mutual friends after he rose to prominence in Nollywood.

In her statement, Jinad described how some of Lateef’s students reportedly came to her page to attack both her and her fans. She appealed to Lateef to call his students to order, emphasizing the need for respect and civility online.

Jinad clarified her earlier remark about collecting a baby gift from Lateef, saying, “I was using that as a point of contact for Lateef’s wife, Adebimpe Oyebade, praying that God bless her with a child soon—just as God answered my own prayers after 17 years of waiting for the fruit of the womb.” She stressed that her intention was rooted in love and encouragement, not to provoke conflict or escalate tensions.

The actress further emphasized the importance of humility and reconciliation. “Instead of wearing pride, Lateef should apologize to those he has offended and let peace reign. At our age, all we truly need is harmony and serenity,” she added. Jinad highlighted that personal grudges and public disputes only distract from meaningful relationships and peace of mind.

Jinad also reflected on the broader responsibility of public figures in Nollywood. She noted that celebrity influence comes with accountability, and those with large followings should guide their fans toward positive behavior. By addressing the attacks from Lateef’s students and appealing for understanding, Jinad is encouraging both respect and maturity within the industry.

Her message resonates with many, advocating that prayer, goodwill, and peaceful interaction should take precedence over pride, grudges, or fan-driven harassment. Jinad concluded by appealing to Lateef Adedimeji to foster an environment of reconciliation, stressing that at this stage in life, maintaining peace is far more important than holding onto pride.
