Gospel singer Tim Godfrey has spoken out about being labeled “worldly” due to his unique style and creativity, sharing a heartfelt open letter to people who have ever felt judged or misunderstood by others  especially within religious circles.

In an emotional post on his Instagram page, Godfrey reflected on his personal experiences of facing criticism for how he expresses his faith, explaining that many people have often judged him without understanding his story.

Titled “Open Letter to the Labeled,” the singer wrote to anyone who has ever been misjudged because of their appearance, lifestyle, or past mistakes.

“To the one religion judged before hearing your story… to the one who stopped going to gatherings because the whispers were louder than the sermons  this is for you,” he began.

Godfrey admitted that he has been called names such as “worldly,” “rebellious,” and “unspiritual,” but insisted that he has learned to rise above the criticism by focusing on the true essence of love and grace.

According to him, “Jesus never labeled people; He loved them. He sat with the broken, touched the untouchable, and called the forgotten family.”

Encouraging those who feel ostracized because of how they look, he said, “You may have tattoos, gold in your hair, or dreads that make them stare. You may have been told you don’t fit the ‘religious image,’ but guess what? Neither did Jesus.”

The Na You Be God crooner reminded his followers that Christ was also misunderstood and rejected, yet continued to show compassion. He quoted Romans 8:38-39, emphasizing that “nothing can separate us from the love of God.”

Tim Godfrey further revealed that his upcoming project, No Label, set to be released on October 31, 2025, is not just an album but a movement. “No Label isn’t just music; it’s a message. A reminder that grace has no dress code, and that the finished work of the Cross still covers every story, every scar, every soul,” he wrote.

He urged people to embrace authenticity and stop trying to appear perfect before coming to God. “You don’t have to clean up to come to Him.

You come to Him, and He does the cleansing through love,” Godfrey added, quoting Titus 3:5 to reinforce his point about divine mercy over religious appearances.

Concluding his message, the gospel star declared, “Jesus didn’t come for the perfect; He came for the real. And if you’ve ever been pushed away, know this  He’s still reaching for you.”

The post, which quickly went viral, received an outpouring of support from fans and fellow gospel artists who praised Godfrey for using his platform to promote love, acceptance, and authenticity in the Christian community.

Tim Godfrey’s No Label project continues to generate anticipation among fans, with many commending him for turning personal pain and criticism into a powerful spiritual message of grace and inclusion.
