Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has shared a heartfelt testimony about how she miraculously escaped death earlier this year.
The award-winning actress and wife of singer Banky W took to her Instagram page to recount a terrifying experience that nearly claimed her life in June 2025. According to Adesua, she went through a horrific medical emergency that led to an unplanned surgery, which she described as “the least dramatic part” of her ordeal.
Revealing that the incident occurred in the United Kingdom, where she was with her husband and their children, Adesua said she was overwhelmed by how God intervened in what could have been a tragic situation.
> “I could have lost my life in June of this year,” she wrote. “If even one single detail of that day were different, I wouldn’t be here today. I shudder when I think about it.”
The “Wedding Party” star shared that she and Banky W were in the UK for two speaking engagements in London and Manchester, where they went to serve God. She noted that the experience changed her profoundly, deepening her awareness of God’s presence and mercy.
> “There is nothing anyone can tell me—God is real! Like a map, I can literally trace how His hands were all over that situation,” she said.
Expressing gratitude for life, Adesua added that she now lives more intentionally, cherishing every moment with her husband and children. She encouraged her followers to practice kindness, patience, forgiveness, and love.
> “Let’s be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I will never take another day for granted. Neither should you,” she wrote.
Her emotional post has since stirred reactions online, with many fans and colleagues thanking God for sparing her life and praising her for her openness.
