Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, widely known as Blaqbonez, has been named in a legal petition accusing him of blackmail, cyber harassment, and invasion of privacy.

According to a statement issued by Bristol & Mortglass C.S. and obtained by PM News on Sunday, the petition was filed on behalf of a woman identified as Jane Doe, who allegedly suffered emotional abuse, cyberstalking, and the non-consensual sharing of her private videos after refusing the artiste’s romantic advances in December 2024.

The law firm stated that despite repeated pleas for the rapper to stop, he allegedly continued the “unlawful procurement and circulation of indecent videos.”

“Following our client’s decision to decline his advances for a romantic relationship, Mr. Akumefule embarked on a series of deliberate and malicious actions intended to intimidate, humiliate, and emotionally damage her,” the statement read.

The petition further accused Blaqbonez of blackmail, cyberstalking, and privacy invasion, citing the alleged “unlawful procurement and circulation of private indecent video content without consent.”

Bristol & Mortglass C.S. maintained that the harassment caused their client deep psychological and emotional trauma, leading her to seek justice through the Nigeria Police Force.

“Despite several reasonable attempts respectfully asking Mr. Akumefule to desist, he persisted in his conduct, spreading false and damaging information about our client to tarnish her reputation,” the firm added.

The statement also noted that the complainant now lives in fear for her safety in Lagos and has faced both personal and professional setbacks due to the alleged actions.

The firm asserted that the rapper’s behavior contravenes the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015, the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act 2015, and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, urging the authorities to take immediate action.

It was further disclosed that TIA Solicitors had previously sent legal letters to Blaqbonez on December 30, 2024, and January 8, 2025, demanding he delete all private materials linked to Ms. Doe, issue a public apology, and pay ₦200 million in damages for emotional distress.

Despite reportedly receiving the documents twice, the alleged conduct reportedly continued unabated.

As of press time, the rapper and his management are yet to release an official statement addressing the allegations.
