Africa Magic to Premiere New Titles from Femi Ogunsanwo, Basketmouth & Unlimited LA This Month

 

Africa Magic has announced the premiere of four new original drama series from September 29 on Africa Magic Showcase. The line-up features diverse storytelling across drama, fantasy, and music-inspired narratives, reinforcing the platform’s commitment to delivering fresh and engaging African content.

The first of the premieres, The Low Priest (130 episodes), is directed by Femi Ogunsanwo and stars Paul Nnadiekwe, David Eyo and Oluchi Amajuoyi. The series follows two rivals who trespass into a sacred shrine, triggering a twist of fate where one is chosen by the gods and the other cursed. The show will premiere on 29th September and air weekdays at 8 p.m.

Also debuting on 29th September is Mother of the Bride (39 episodes), a family drama about a Lagos matriarch who, after her husband’s death, discovers she has 45 days to marry off one of her four daughters or lose her inheritance to tradition. Starring Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Ibrahim Suleiman, Wendy Lawal, Kalu Ikeagwu and Gloria Anozie Young, the series will air Mondays to Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m.

On 2nd October, Africa Magic will premiere Etiti (26 episodes), directed by Daniel Oriahi and produced by Bright Okpocha (Basketmouth). The fantasy drama tells the story of a fearless warrior hunter trapped in the afterlife, where he must work with a goddess, Nwa Ala, to save his bride and expose his killer. The series stars Uzoamaka Onuoha, Bryan Okoye, Elma Mbadiwe and Paschaline Ijeoma Alex. It will air Thursdays and Fridays at 8:30 p.m.

Closing out the slate is the limited series Rise Again, directed by award-winning music video director Unlimited LA. The series follows a gifted dancer’s journey of resilience and redemption as he battles betrayal, loss and injury in a bid to reclaim his dream. Featuring Liquorose, Hermes Iyele, Kaffy, Do2dtun, Femi Branch, Saskay and Dada Boy Ehiz, the show will premiere on 19th October and air Sundays at 8 p.m.

All four titles will air exclusively on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Channel 151, GOtv Channel 8) with fast follow release on Showmax.
