Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has issued a powerful message to his colleagues in the film industry: always deliver excellence in your craft, regardless of the compensation. In a recent Instagram post, Edochie emphasized that an actor's performance should not be dictated by the fee received for a role. He stated:

“As an actor, if you accept a ₦10k fee for a movie role, you must give a $100 million performance. Don’t give a ₦10k performance because you were paid ₦10k—that’s your road to failure. Even if you agree to work for free, give a $100 million performance. That’s what acting demands. That’s your road to greatness.”

Edochie's advice underscores the importance of passion and professionalism in the acting profession. He believes that true greatness is achieved by consistently delivering outstanding performances, irrespective of the financial reward. This mindset, according to Edochie, separates mediocrity from excellence in the industry.
