Episode six of Just Us Girls Season Four, titled Temptation, was nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster. From the opening scenes to the closing moment, it drew me in completely, leaving me reflective and at times, heartbroken. Among all the characters, Onajite’s journey stood out as the most painful and soul-stirring.
Her story exposes the scars that family wounds can leave behind. The trauma she carries is so heavy that she even fears being a firstborn in another life. That in itself speaks volumes. What kind of pain must someone endure for such a thought to linger? More than anything, Onajite is crying out for support—for a backbone, for someone to hold her up. And, above all, for the anchor that never fails: Christ Jesus, who answers prayers with the swiftness and urgency of an ambulance racing to the scene of a rescue.
This episode beautifully portrayed that turning point where Onajite begins to realise that only Jesus can meet her deepest needs, according to His word. That moment felt like a sigh of relief, especially after witnessing Sammy’s reckless arrogance earlier. His actions were nothing short of appalling, and yet, they served as a contrast to highlight the grace and provision of God that is already unfolding in Onajite’s life.
Another character who made this episode truly remarkable was Ameh. Her response to the situation was inspiring. Instead of condemning or criticizing, she interceded. Her heartfelt prayers became a shield, standing in the gap for others. It was moving to see how quickly her prayers were answered—almost instantly. That sense of divine intervention made the episode deeply spiritual.
Ameh also showed growth on a personal level. She confronted her own fears, took charge of her appearance, and finally let go of that old wig. This symbolic change reflected the transformation happening within her. Seeing her step into her glowing phase—radiant, confident, and beautiful—was one of the highlights of the episode.
Koyin’s arc also carried immense weight. The father figure who finally stepped into her life completely altered her path, bringing her peace after years of silent suffering. For so long, she carried the burden of secrets kept from her by Chief Doctor. That hidden truth had shaped so much of her life in painful ways, but in this episode, we watched her break free. The healing and relief that came with her new reality was both heartbreaking and uplifting.
Ella’s story was equally powerful. After struggling for so long with comparisons and feelings of inadequacy, she has finally embraced her worth. No longer does she need to measure love through Munachi’s affection for Koyin. That chapter is now firmly closed. Watching her step into a season of strength and self-assurance was refreshing and empowering.
One detail I continue to admire about Just Us Girls is its intentional casting. The physical resemblances among characters—Koyin and her mother, Jite and her siblings—make the storytelling even more believable. It’s almost as though these families were pulled from real life, which makes the emotional impact even stronger.
The spiritual lessons woven into the story also cannot be overstated. The show reminds us of the importance of listening to the Holy Spirit, even when obedience feels inconvenient. This was evident in Jite’s journey in Episode Five (Trust Me), and once again, it rang loud and clear in this episode.
While Temptation left me celebrating growth, healing, and answered prayers, it also stirred sadness, knowing that the series is approaching its close. This story has been a rare gift—spirit-filled, emotional, and profoundly relatable. As it winds down, I can only pray that the writer receives fresh inspiration because audiences are not ready to say goodbye to this masterpiece.
Rating: Spirit-filled, emotional, and deeply relatable.
