Reality TV star and actress, Phyna, has laid her younger sister, Ruth Otabor, to rest in a solemn ceremony that took place over the weekend.
Ruth, 24, passed away on August 31 after suffering complications from a road crash involving a Dangote truck on August 13. The tragic accident occurred just six days after she graduated from Auchi Polytechnic. She sustained critical injuries, including the loss of a leg, before eventually succumbing.
The burial service was held at the family’s residence in Ogun State on Saturday. Friends, relatives, and fellow BBNaija alumni, Christy O and Groovy, joined Phyna at the graveside, all dressed in black as a mark of respect and solidarity.
The atmosphere was filled with grief as mourners paid their last respects, with Phyna visibly moved by the heartbreaking farewell.
Ruth’s untimely death had earlier drawn an outpouring of sympathy from fans, friends, and colleagues online. Many of them also attended the burial to honor her memory and show support to the bereaved family.
In the wake of the tragedy, the Otabor family has appealed for privacy as they continue to mourn their loss.
