The Nigerian online comedy industry has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of fast-rising skit maker and content creator, Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Mr Sanku Comedy. His body arrived at the Muslim Cemetery in Osogbo earlier today, where he was laid to rest according to Islamic rites, in the presence of family, friends, and grieving fans.
Mr Sanku reportedly lost his life in a ghastly car accident along the Oyo–Ogbomoso road in the early hours of Monday. The accident, described by eyewitnesses as fatal, claimed his life instantly, leaving the Nigerian entertainment community in shock.
Known for his hilarious skits and unique storytelling style, Mr Sanku had steadily built a name for himself in the digital comedy space. His creativity resonated with a wide audience, making him a beloved figure among young Nigerians who saw him as an inspiration in the world of skit-making and online content creation.
Tributes have been pouring in across social media platforms, with fans and fellow comedians expressing disbelief over the sudden loss. Many described him as a “humble soul” who used his platform to spread laughter, positivity, and relatable social commentary. His passing highlights the fragility of life and the risks of traveling on some of Nigeria’s highways, where accidents have become increasingly common due to poor road conditions and reckless driving.
While his career was tragically cut short, Mr Sanku’s legacy lives on through the countless comedy skits and content he left behind. He will be remembered not only as a skit maker but also as a friend, brother, and inspiration to many aspiring creators. His untimely death serves as a painful reminder that tomorrow is never promised.
May his soul rest in peace.
