Nigerian clergyman, Odumeje, has made a striking revelation about his mortality, claiming that he will choose the day he passes away and that nobody will witness his remains.

The Anambra-based preacher disclosed this during a recent sermon to his congregation, in a video that quickly went viral online. The statement was made on sunday

According to Odumeje, his declaration is not meant as a boast or “cruise,” but as a factual statement about his life and eventual departure. He emphasized that he will live forever and only decide the moment of his death.

Speaking to his congregation, Odumeje said, “I never die. I live forever. And I repeat it more and more: when I die no one can see my corpse and that is not a cruise. It is a fact. And that is a reality about the dead man in the battlefield….”

The preacher’s comments are consistent with an earlier revelation in which he shared details about how his final days would unfold. Odumeje had previously stated that his departure from the earth would be unobserved, suggesting that he would “simply fly away” without anyone seeing his body.

This enigmatic statement has sparked a mixture of awe and curiosity among Nigerians, with many questioning the spiritual or symbolic meaning behind his words.

Social media users have reacted in a variety of ways. One Twitter user, @whiteben, commented, “This man is not ordinary oo. He has spiritual backups… he’s not the one speaking.”

Another user, @King J Nkum, expressed skepticism, writing, “You live forever…but you choose the date to die? Ain’t that a contradiction?” Some fans urged others to interpret the preacher’s words deeply rather than dismiss them, with @EMMERSON  saying, “Y’all should read meaning into it; he’s actually saying something, so y’all should listen . Everything no be cruise.”

Odumeje, whose ministry has drawn significant attention in Anambra and beyond, is known for his theatrical style and unorthodox statements.

While his remarks about death may seem provocative, they reflect a unique worldview that blends spirituality with personal agency.

Followers of the clergyman continue to debate the theological and philosophical implications of his claim, with some suggesting that it points to a heightened sense of spiritual awareness or divine protection.

As of  today Odumeje’s statement has sparked online discussions across social media platforms, making it one of the most talked-about declarations in Nigerian entertainment circles this week.

Whether interpreted literally or metaphorically, the preacher’s bold claim underscores his larger-than-life persona and the enduring intrigue surrounding his ministry.
