Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has ignited heated conversations online after boldly declaring that no Nigerian actress can afford a luxury Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon solely from acting income.

In a recent interview, the respected actor spoke candidly about the state of the Nigerian film industry, stressing that the financial returns from acting are insufficient to fund such extravagant purchases. According to Solade, many people underestimate how little most actors and actresses earn from Nollywood productions compared to the lavish lifestyles often showcased on social media.

Yemi Solade stated:

“No actress can say she bought her G-Wagon from the money made from acting because how much do they earn?”
