Afrobeats megastar Davido has once again proven why he is one of the most talked-about Nigerian musicians after firing back at trolls on X (formerly Twitter) who questioned his relevance in the music industry.
The drama started when a fan pointed out that the “Unavailable” hitmaker had been unusually quiet on Twitter for three days, admitting that he missed his daily updates.
“Davido never post for over 3 days now. I miss my idolo,” the fan wrote.
Responding with humor, Davido—who officially got married last month—hinted that marriage naturally shifts one’s priorities.
“When u marry, you go understand. Lol,” he replied.
However, things quickly escalated when another user attempted to downplay his influence, suggesting that his silence was the reason he is not rated highly among Nigerian musicians.
“Na why dem no fit ever rate u for this industry,” the tweep posted.
Davido wasted no time shutting down the jab with a bold statement, declaring himself the life force of the industry.
“Me wey dey give industry life,” he fired back.
The 30BG boss didn’t stop there—he also clapped back at another user who mocked his recent marriage, proving once again that he never shies away from addressing online criticism.
Davido’s response has since sparked conversations online, with fans divided between those who believe he is underrated and others who agree with his claim of giving the Nigerian music industry vibrancy and international recognition.
The Grammy-nominated star, known for chart-topping hits like Fall, If, and Feel, remains one of Africa’s biggest musical exports. With his bold reply, Davido has once again reminded the industry and his critics that he is not only relevant but also a key figure keeping Afrobeats alive on the global stage.
