Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has once more broken his silence on the viral rumours claiming he had passed away. The legendary actor, known for his comic roles and unique slangs in Nollywood movies, took to his Instagram page to debunk the fake news with undeniable proof of life.
In a video post, Chiwetalu Agu was seen enjoying himself, seated comfortably while eating chicken and sipping wine. The Nollywood icon, who has entertained audiences for decades, assured fans that he is alive, strong, and still full of energy. In his words:
“I Will Chop Life Till God The Creator Of Heaven And Earth Calls Me Home, Which Is Not Any Time Soon, Till Then Let Us Enjoy & Let The Fake Bloggers Cry!”
This is not the first time rumours about the death of a Nollywood legend have circulated online. In recent years, similar false reports have trailed stars like Pete Edochie, Olu Jacobs, and other veterans in the Nigerian film industry. However, like those before him, Chiwetalu Agu has proven the bloggers wrong by showing the world that he is very much alive.
Agu, who has been a household name since the 1990s, remains one of Nollywood’s most respected actors, famous for his comedic expressions, satirical dialogues, and ability to bring humour into even the most serious roles. His confirmation of life has brought relief to fans who were already mourning prematurely due to misleading headlines.
The actor’s message also serves as a reminder to Nigerians and Nollywood lovers to always verify news before believing or sharing it, especially in an age where fake stories spread faster than the truth.
Chiwetalu Agu insists that he will keep enjoying life, eating good food, drinking wine, and entertaining his fans — leaving the “fake bloggers” to drown in their own lies.
