Popular Nollywood actor Bolanle Ninalowo, better known as Nino B, has sparked fresh conversations on social media after sharing a shocking petition he received from a lady who claimed she was defrauded by someone impersonating him. The actor revealed that the distraught woman has been sending him threatening emails, blaming him for the incident.

According to Nino B, the unknown impersonator allegedly duped the woman of N33 million, claiming to be the actor himself. In her petition, she accused him of being part of the fraud and vowed to go public if he refused to take responsibility. But Nino B quickly shut down the claims, stating that not even Nollywood, where he has built a successful career, pays him such huge amounts per film.

In his words: “Even the Nollywood wey blow me never pay me N33 million per film.” This blunt response highlights how far scammers are willing to go, exploiting the names of celebrities to trap unsuspecting fans.

The actor, who has been vocal about cyber fraud and impersonation in Nollywood, warned his fans to remain vigilant. He emphasized that legitimate Nollywood contracts do not involve sending money to actors privately. Nino B further stated that the continuous threats from the woman were unfair, as he was also a victim of identity theft in this situation.

This incident sheds light on a recurring issue in the Nigerian entertainment industry—where fraudsters set up fake social media accounts and pose as popular actors to deceive people. Several Nollywood stars, including Odunlade Adekola, Mercy Aigbe, and Toyin Abraham, have previously warned fans about similar scams.

Nino B’s outburst is a reminder of the dark side of celebrity fame, where actors not only have to protect their careers but also their reputations against impersonators. While he remains unshaken, the petition has sparked online debates on whether more should be done by authorities to curb digital fraud targeting Nollywood actors.
