Popular Nigerian singer Mr Real, whose real name is Okafor Uchenna Victor, has publicly accused fellow musician D’banj of financial exploitation.
In a recent interview, Mr Real claimed that during their two-year professional relationship, he only received a mere $500, despite working extensively with the Koko Master.
The singer alleged that D’banj had used him as an ambassador for his CREAM brand without providing any promised benefits. He revealed that even when D’banj allegedly had a car meant for him, it was never handed over. Mr Real, who doesn’t own a car, claimed the vehicle was simply parked and never given to him.
Reflecting on the ordeal, he said,
“D’banj ripped me. No be say allegedly, he did. Anything wey make me forget Banger I go leave am for my mama wey don die. You can’t be with a man for 2 years and only thing you gain is $500. What kind of wickedness, selfishness is that?”
This isn’t the first time Mr Real has voiced grievances against D’banj. Back in 2023, he had accused the Koko Master of failing to honor financial commitments, including his rightful share from their 2018 hit track, ‘Issa Banger’.
