Thousands gathered in Arizona on Sunday, September 22, 2025, to honor the late Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, in a memorial service that drew an estimated 200,000 attendees.
The event, held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, exceeded the stadium’s maximum capacity of 73,000, prompting organizers to turn away many fans who had traveled from across the United States to pay tribute to the influential conservative activist.
The memorial was marked by a profound sense of reverence and emotion, as attendees filled the stadium to witness speeches and reflections celebrating Kirk’s life.
Among the notable attendees were former President Donald Trump, members of his cabinet, Vice President JD Vance, and Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk. The atmosphere was described as almost akin to a religious revival, with the crowd responding enthusiastically to each tribute.
Erika Kirk, who was recently appointed the CEO of Turning Point USA, delivered an emotional address, offering forgiveness to her late husband’s accused killer, Tyler Robinson.
“That young man… On the cross our savior said, ‘Father forgive them, for they know not what they do’ — that man, that young man, I forgive him,” she said.
The audience, many moved to tears, gave her a standing ovation. Erika emphasized the power of love over hate, saying, “The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love. Love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.”
Former President Trump also took the stage to honor Kirk, describing him as “a Great American hero” whose influence continues even in death.
“Charlie Kirk loved America with everything he had. And as we can see so clearly today, America loved Charlie Kirk,” Trump said.
He further called Kirk a martyr for American liberty, stating that his message “will resonate even louder in death than it had in his short life.” Trump recounted the tragic day of Kirk’s passing on September 10, 2025, emphasizing that history would not forget his contributions.
Due to the overwhelming turnout, additional attendees were directed to the adjacent Desert Diamond Arena, which has a capacity of 20,000. Security officials and event organizers confirmed that roughly 200,000 people attended, making it one of the largest memorial gatherings in recent times.
The memorial highlighted Kirk’s lasting impact on American politics and youth activism. Turning Point USA, his organization, emphasized that Kirk’s vision and dedication to promoting conservative principles would continue to inspire future generations.
The event combined grief with celebration, demonstrating the profound respect and admiration many Americans held for Kirk.
As the service concluded, the message was clear: Charlie Kirk’s legacy as a leader, advocate, and activist remains firmly etched in the hearts of those who knew him and those influenced by his work.
His widow, Erika, and supporters across the nation vowed to carry forward his mission with the same passion that defined his life.
