Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has announced that she and her boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, wide receiver for the New England Patriots, are expecting their first child together.
The “Bodak Yellow” star revealed the news during an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, which aired Wednesday, September 17.
“I’m having a baby with my boyfriend Stefon Diggs,” Cardi said. The couple went public with their relationship earlier this year.
This pregnancy comes after her split from rapper Offset, with whom she shares three children: daughters Kulture and Blossom, and son Wave.
During the interview, Cardi, 31, said she feels empowered while managing her career and pregnancy. “I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong. I feel very powerful that I’m doing all this work. But I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby,” she explained. She also credited Diggs for being a source of strength. “People were coming at me very hard, but he makes me feel very confident.”
Cardi opened up about dealing with anxiety during the rollout of her upcoming album, Am I the Drama?, saying, “Two weeks ago I was literally having a panic attack… just because I was getting really nervous with, you know, the whole album rollout.”
With her usual humor, she encouraged fans to support her album, joking, “Now y’all could buy my album so I can buy Pampers and diapers and all that type of stuff. Go support my album, ’cause I’m a mother of four now.”
She revealed she waited to go public until she could “close some deals first” and admitted she hasn’t told her parents yet, joking that she’s “scared of them.”
Speculation had been mounting for weeks after Cardi’s recent public appearances. While she initially dismissed rumors—even tossing a pen at a reporter outside a Manhattan courthouse—she now feels ready to share the news.
Reflecting on her relationship with Diggs, she said, “Let me heal you. Give me a chance for me to heal you,” recalling his words.
With her personal life and career both thriving, Cardi expressed satisfaction with her music. “I feel like it touch every little thing that I want to touch. And I just feel like it’s something that is not out there right now.”
