The father of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has finally spoken out about the controversy surrounding a DNA test for his grandson, little Liam. In a heartfelt explanation, Baba Mohbad revealed that his push for the DNA test is not out of malice or distrust, but rather a protective step to secure the child’s future.
According to him, his deepest worry is that as Liam grows older, he may face unnecessary accusations, doubts, or even bullying about his true identity. “Nobody knows the heights this boy could reach tomorrow,” he said, stressing that it would be unfair for questions of paternity to cast shadows over Liam’s journey.
Baba Mohbad emphasized that his only intention is to ensure clarity and peace for the young child. He noted that life could place Liam in great positions where heritage and legacy matter, and it would be unjust if people used the unresolved issue of his paternity against him.
He further explained that should the DNA test confirm that Liam is indeed Mohbad’s biological son, it would bring him nothing but joy. “It would mean my late son left behind a child, and that is a double blessing,” he said, highlighting the comfort and continuation of Mohbad’s bloodline through Liam.
