Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Asake has unveiled plans for his highly anticipated African tour, set to begin this December.
Sharing the news on Instagram, the “Sungba” singer confirmed that the tour will be named after his debut studio album, Mr Money.
According to the official tour flyer, Asake will perform in Nairobi on December 20, Lagos on December 24, and Côte d’Ivoire on December 27, with more countries and dates expected to be revealed soon.
Born Ahmed Ololade, Asake rose to fame in 2020 with his breakout hit, “Lady.” He joined YBNL Nation in February 2022 and has released three studio albums since then: Mr Money With The Vibes (2022), Work of Art (2023), and Lungu Boy (2024).
The singer’s talent has earned him international recognition, including a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance this year, although the award ultimately went to fellow Nigerian star Tems.
Recently, Asake released the single “Military,” in which he paid tribute to Olamide for his mentorship and guidance throughout his career. The track underscores the pivotal role the rapper played in shaping Asake’s rise to stardom.
In February, the singer launched his first single under his own label, Giran Republic, titled “Why Love.” This move marks a new chapter for Asake following his departure from YBNL Nation, signaling the start of a more independent phase in his career.
