Nollywood actor Afeez Owo has opened up about his 22-year marriage to fellow actress Mide Martins, offering fans a rare glimpse into the love and bond they share. In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Afeez revealed some of the unique details that have kept their union strong for over two decades.

The actor disclosed that he and Mide address each other with unusual but meaningful pet names. He calls her “Iya Alekuleja,” while she refers to him as “Baba Elere.”

 According to him, although these names may sound unconventional, they perfectly reflect the closeness they have built over the years. He explained that their relationship thrives on balance rather than rigid roles, crediting God’s faithfulness for sustaining them.

Reflecting on their journey, Afeez expressed deep appreciation to his wife for her patience and tolerance, dismissing any negative perceptions about her. “Ajoke, thank you for putting up with me.

 I swear to God, my wife is not a wicked woman, whether at home or in public,” he said, stressing that their marriage has stood the test of time because of mutual respect and understanding.

He also revisited the 2016 separation rumors that once surrounded their marriage. Afeez admitted that it was the only serious fight they had in their union and blamed himself for mishandling the situation. He noted that social media amplified the issue, which could have been resolved privately. Thankfully, the couple reconciled and moved past the episode, emerging stronger.

Over the years, both Afeez and Mide have publicly celebrated each other on several occasions. At different points, Mide has showered prayers on her husband and acknowledged his unwavering support, while Afeez has described her as the love of his life, his support system, and the queen of his heart.
