Controversial Nigerian crossdresser and social media personality, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has sparked fresh conversations online after publicly lamenting over the delay in his monthly period.

In a recent social media post, Bobrisky expressed concern that his “period” might start at an inconvenient time  possibly during his highly anticipated birthday photoshoot.

The self-acclaimed “Mummy of Lagos” noted that the timing could interfere with the glamor and poise he hopes to display for the event, stating plainly that he does not want to be “changing pad on set.”

Bobrisky, who has continuously stirred reactions over his claims of being a “complete woman,” once again maintained that he has undergone everything necessary to transition biologically.

However, he admitted that he is yet to experience menstruation  something he now appears to anticipate each month.

“I want my period to come before I start my birthday shoot. I want to be free. I can’t be changing pad on set,” he wrote. “Women, we are trying. Men need to treat us better; we deserve to be spoilt. There are some conversations men shouldn’t be involved in. Dis topic is only for us (WOMEN) less.”

The post, shared on Friday, August 2, 2025, has since gone viral, attracting both support and criticism from fans, feminists, and social commentators.

While some praised Bobrisky for embracing womanhood so fully, others accused him of trivializing the real physical and emotional challenges women face during their menstrual cycles.

As the birthday of the socialite approaches  a celebration he is known to mark with flamboyant photoshoots and lavish parties  it appears Bobrisky is determined to make every detail flawless, even down to the timing of his imagined period.

In previous interviews and posts, Bobrisky has consistently insisted that he identifies fully as a woman and has taken “all the necessary steps” to embody that identity.

This includes cosmetic procedures and hormonal treatments, which he claims have transformed his body significantly.

However, his statement about menstruation has once again drawn public attention to the complexities and controversies surrounding gender identity in Nigeria.

Critics argue that the biological realities of being a woman cannot be simulated through surgeries or hormones, while supporters believe that Bobrisky’s commitment to living his truth should be respected.

This is not the first time Bobrisky has generated public discourse around femininity. From advising women on dating to making bold claims about childbirth and pregnancy cravings, he often positions himself at the center of gender-related conversations.

Despite the backlash, Bobrisky remains unfazed. With his birthday fast approaching, fans are waiting to see what new surprises he has in store  whether or not his “period” eventually arrives.
