Vincent Otse Martins, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has publicly condemned fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde (KWAM 1) for a hazardous stunt at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The musician was spotted obstructing the path of a plane, an action the activist called highly irresponsible and dangerous—not only putting KWAM 1 in harm’s way but also endangering everyone aboard the aircraft.
In a recent Instagram video, VeryDarkMan acknowledged KWAM 1’s contributions to music but stressed that safety concerns must come first.
“Regardless of the respect I have for KWAM 1’s achievements, this kind of behavior cannot be excused,” he said.
He went on to explain that in countries with stricter aviation laws, such an act would lead to immediate detention for jeopardizing lives.
“If this had happened in a developed nation, KWAM 1 would have been taken into custody for risking not just his life but those of other passengers,” he warned.
Highlighting potential worst-case scenarios, he described how KWAM 1 could have been seriously injured by the plane’s rotating propeller or caused a collision if the pilot had to take evasive action.
“Imagine if the plane’s propeller struck him, or if the pilot swerved to avoid him and crashed—this could have been catastrophic,” he added.
VeryDarkMan also pointed out that air travel operates on strict schedules, and KWAM 1’s actions disrupted the planned departure, impacting passengers with critical engagements.
“Flying depends heavily on timing. Passengers expect flights to leave on schedule, and by blocking the plane, KWAM 1 interfered with their rights,” he said.
He further noted that some affected travelers were heading to important events or medical appointments, which they missed due to the delay caused by the incident.
This is not a matter of developed or developing countries mentality stuff. He must be prosecuted in court of law and send to Kuje prison. Enough of this primitive rascality in Nigeria. Somebody else must be used to serve as a deterrent to others no matter how placed you are in the society. Nobody should act abnormally above the law.
