Popular Nollywood actor and social commentator, Uche uagwu, has stirred up fresh controversy online after publicly calling out social media influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM) for what he describes as blatant hypocrisy regarding the ongoing discourse surrounding the tragic death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.
In a fiery social media post, Uche Maduagwu criticized VDM for allegedly shifting his stance on the involvement of Naira Marley and Sam Larry in the events leading up to Mohbad’s demise. According to Maduagwu, VDM is now seen trying to defend or “whitewash” Naira Marley’s image, despite previously releasing multiple videos that condemned the singer and his alleged associates.
The core of Uche’s accusation revolves around a leaked group chat that VDM recently exposed. The group chat, which reportedly included prominent Nigerian celebrities such as Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh, Samklef, Jigan Baba Oja, and others, allegedly discussed coordinated efforts to influence public opinion in Mohbad’s case. VDM claimed that this "agenda" was driven by clout-chasing motives rather than a genuine pursuit of justice.
However, Uche Maduagwu has countered this narrative by pointing out that VDM himself had aligned with that very same “agenda” in the early stages of the investigation. He questioned why VDM would suddenly switch his position and accused him of manipulating the facts to suit a personal narrative.
"Mohbad's spirit will not rest until the truth is exposed," Maduagwu declared, accusing VDM of betraying the late singer’s memory by defending those many believe played a role in his suffering and untimely death. He emphasized that justice for Mohbad should not be clouded by fame, influence, or online clout wars.
The controversy over Mohbad’s tragic death continues to generate massive public interest across Nigeria, particularly as fans, celebrities, and influencers demand accountability and transparency. The tension between Uche Maduagwu and VeryDarkMan adds a new layer to the debate, drawing attention to how public figures may shift narratives for personal reasons.
As discussions about justice for Mohbad, Naira Marley's involvement, and online influencers' credibility continue to dominate headlines, social media users are left questioning who genuinely seeks justice and who is merely exploiting the tragedy for relevance.
