Media personality Toke Makinwa has silenced rumours of using a surrogate by proudly displaying her bare baby bump.
Earlier, Toke had announced via Instagram that she is expecting her first child, sharing a video of her bump and describing the pregnancy as the biggest project of her life and her highest calling. She revealed that her declaration for 2025 was to have a different year, and God had answered her prayers. In an emotional note to her Maker, she expressed gratitude for completely changing her life and opening doors no one could shut. She admitted she did not understand why it took so long, but now she could see the reason.
Following her announcement, a troll had cast doubt on the authenticity of her pregnancy, suggesting it was artificial and achieved through surrogacy. In her defence, actress Toyin Abraham lashed out at the critic with curses, Funke Akindele called the person an insultive name in Yoruba, while Tiwa Savage urged her to delete the comment.
Now, Toke has personally addressed the speculation by posting a photo on Snapchat, showing her dressed in joggers and a black singlet folded up to reveal her baby bump.
In her caption, she wrote: “This era is called growing life.”
