Tiwa Savage Shares How She Linked Up With Skepta for “On The Low”

Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has opened up about her collaboration with British-Nigerian rapper Skepta on her latest single, “On The Low.”

Savage revealed that the partnership started casually when she reached out to Skepta via direct message, and she was pleasantly surprised by how quickly everything came together.

She recounted visiting Skepta in the studio, playing him the track, and seeing his immediate approval.

“So, ladies, I want to say that it does work sometimes when you slide into that dm. But I did slide into the dm and I was like, hey, big smoke. I didn’t really tell him up front what I wanted. Kind of was just like, I’m in London. What you doing? He’s like, yo, I’m in the studio. I’m like, oh, cool. So I went over and played him the record, and he loved it. I particularly loved shooting the visuals for this. So if you haven’t seen it, make sure you check it out,” she said.

Released on July 30, 2025, “On The Low” has been receiving immense love from fans in both Nigeria and the UK. The single is part of Savage’s forthcoming album, This One Is Personal, which is scheduled for release on August 29, 2025.
