Nigerian music icon Tiwa Savage has officially released her highly anticipated fourth studio album, This One Is Personal. The 15-track project, which dropped on all major streaming platforms on Friday, marks a significant milestone in the singer’s celebrated career.
Ahead of the album’s release, Savage opened up about the creative journey during an Instagram Live session, sharing the obstacles she faced while bringing the project to life. She noted that some critics questioned the album’s potential, expressing concerns that its distinctive sound and the absence of features from mainstream artists might not resonate with audiences.
Undeterred, Savage delivered a collection of songs featuring carefully chosen collaborators, including Nigerian-British rapper Skepta, Taves, and Flauntleroy. The album blends uplifting anthems with introspective tracks, offering a mix of emotional depth and energetic vibes. Standout songs include “I’m Done,” “Angel Dust,” “On The Low,” “Holding It Down,” “10%,” “Twisted,” “Scared Of Love,” “Pray No More,” “Addicted,” as well as the interlude “This One Is Personal,” and tracks like “Will I Run Again?,” “For One Night,” “You’re Not The First (You’re Just The Worst),” and “Change.”
Since her debut, Savage has established herself as one of Africa’s most influential music artists, earning international recognition and multiple awards. This One Is Personal adds to her acclaimed discography, joining previous albums Once Upon a Time (2013), R.E.D (2015), and Celia (2020).
In July, Savage celebrated 12 years in the music industry, reflecting on her journey and dedication. She expressed pride in her resilience, saying she is “proud to be still standing” and continuing to make waves in the global music scene.
