"Stay Single Until You Walk Down the Aisle” -Tacha

Reality TV star and entrepreneur, Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has sparked conversations online with her bold advice to young women on relationships and marriage.

The outspoken media personality urged unmarried ladies to remain single until they officially walk down the aisle, warning against investing too much in relationships that might not lead to marriage.

Speaking via her social media platform, Tacha explained that women often tie themselves to one man too early, only to end up disappointed when things don’t work out as expected.

According to her, being committed to a boyfriend before marriage could stop a lady from meeting her true husband.

“Every girl should be single till they’re actually married, do you understand? It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t date, whether it’s one, two or three people.

The point is, don’t tie yourself down emotionally until marriage. The thing with guys is that it’s easier for them to meet a girl and within two weeks start talking about marriage. But for women, it doesn’t work that way. A girl can’t just meet a guy and after two weeks say, ‘I want to marry you.’ Do you get what I’m saying?” she stressed.

The former Big Brother Naija star went further to clarify her personal stance, noting that she would never openly admit to being in a relationship until she was legally married.

In her words: “Even if I was in a relationship, I would still say I’m single until I’m married. It doesn’t make sense to tell people you’re dating someone when you’re not married yet. That way, you don’t block yourself from meeting new people. Don’t let your boyfriend stop you from meeting your husband.”

Her comments have since drawn mixed reactions on social media. While some followers applauded her for giving young women what they described as “hard truths,” others criticized her, saying her advice promotes dishonesty and instability in relationships.

One Instagram user reacted by saying: “Tacha is simply telling ladies not to put all their eggs in one basket. A lot of women waste their youthful years on men who never marry them.” Another critic, however, argued: “This is misleading advice. If everyone acts single while dating, how will trust exist in relationships? Not every man is unserious.”

Despite the backlash, Tacha stood firm on her point. She maintained that her advice was not to encourage promiscuity but to protect women from heartbreaks and wasted years in unfruitful relationships.

“Ladies, protect your heart. It’s better to remain single in words and actions until you are truly married. That way, you won’t regret missing out on better opportunities,” she emphasized.

Her statement has since gone viral, with many reposting clips of her video and quoting the now trending line: “Don’t let your boyfriend stop you from meeting your husband.”

As the debate continues, Tacha remains unapologetic, adding that women need to be wise and prioritize their future over temporary relationships.
