The Edo-born singer and rapper, whose real name is Crown Uzama, surprised a fan with ₦1 million for lunch, sparking widespread reactions across social media and further cementing his reputation as one of the country’s most engaging music personalities.
Nollywoodtimes reports that, the 25-year-old had just announced his presence on the platform when a follower identified as Adémola jokingly asked him for lunch money. In a move that stunned many, Shallipopi responded by requesting the fan’s account details and shortly afterward sent ₦1 million via PalmPay. A screenshot of the transaction quickly circulated across X, WhatsApp groups, and Instagram blogs, with fans hailing the artist for his generosity and playful spirit.
The gesture dominated online discussions, with many describing it as another example of Shallipopi’s authenticity and spontaneity. One user wrote that only Shallipopi could “turn vibes into ₦1 million,” while another remarked that his generosity set him apart in an industry often clouded by controversy. Others praised the artist for reinforcing his image as both entertaining and relatable.
Shallipopi, born April 12, 2000, in Benin City, rose to fame in 2023 with his viral single Elon Musk. He has since released projects including the Planet Pluto EP, the Presido La Pluto album, and Shakespopi. In 2025, his single Laho broke into the United States Billboard Afrobeats Top 10, and he recently won the Headies Award for Best Rap Single with Cast while also earning a nomination for BET’s Best New International Act. Known for blending Afrobeats, street-hop, and amapiano influences, he has built a loyal fanbase he calls Plutomania.
The ₦1 million lunch giveaway is not Shallipopi’s first show of generosity. He has been known to spray money at live shows and reward loyal followers with giveaways, but this latest act has become one of his most talked-about moments.
