“Our Little Bundle of Joy Born on My Birthday” – Funke Akindele Overjoyed at Iyabo Ojo’s Grandson’s Arrival

Nollywood star Funke Akindele has taken to Instagram to celebrate her colleague and close friend, Iyabo Ojo, following the birth of Iyabo’s first grandchild.

The joyous news came on Sunday, August 24th, a day that also marked Funke Akindele’s 48th birthday. Iyabo’s daughter, Priscilla Ojo, welcomed her first baby — a bouncing baby boy — with her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.

Sharing her excitement on Instagram, Funke Akindele expressed gratitude to God for the perfect timing of the birth, noting that her grandson’s arrival on her birthday was a divine testimony of God’s goodness.

She wrote:

 “God’s timing is perfect! Our little bundle of joy, born on my birthday (Aug 24th), is a sweet testimony of His goodness! Congratulations, my lovely and darling friend @iyaboojofespris, you’re now the sexiest grandma ever! I’m beyond thrilled for you! To the Mbakalas @juma_jux @its.priscy, may this joy be forever sealed in our hearts, in Jesus’ name, Amen. Now, let’s celebrate and party.”

The A Tribe Called Judah producer also hailed Iyabo Ojo as the “sexiest grandma ever” while congratulating Priscilla and Juma Jux, declaring that their union is sealed forever in love.

Interestingly, despite being by her daughter’s side in the delivery room, Iyabo Ojo still found time to celebrate Funke Akindele on her special day. Sharing stunning photos of Funke, she described the award-winning filmmaker as a “friend turned sister” and wished her many more years of blessings, happiness, and success.

This heartwarming moment comes years after both actresses reconciled, putting aside their differences following their public fallout when a blogger criticized Toyin Abraham’s film, The Ghost and The Tout.

Now, with the arrival of her first grandson, Iyabo Ojo has officially joined the league of Nollywood’s glamorous grandmothers, and Funke Akindele is more than thrilled to share in her joy.
