Yoruba movie star, Jayeola Monje — popularly known as Jaiye Kuti — has been thrown into deep sorrow following the passing of her colleague, Seun Confirm.
Taking to her Instagram page, Jaiye Kuti disclosed that the fast-rising actor and filmmaker lost his life to Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland, common with age, which can cause severe difficulty in urination.
The actress expressed profound grief over his sudden demise, lamenting the cruelty of losing him at such a time. Her heartfelt tribute read:
> “Seun confirm….. Aaaah lku omo yin dun mi ooooo kabiyesi olorun. Kabiyesi olorun, kabiyesi olorun, ijinle ife alailenikan iku doro. Rest in Peace is cruel o.
Not now, Lord!
Odun mi Sa. Olorun Odun mi o.
Aaah Odun mi.
High BPH.
Ama pade lese Jesu. Sun ree o. May God console your family tor.”
Sadly, this tragedy comes in the wake of multiple losses in the Yoruba movie industry this month. Earlier, the death of Odunayo Olufemi, fondly called Oloto, sent shockwaves through Nollywood.
Actor Kunle Afod revealed that Oloto had attended church, complained of feeling unwell, and stepped into a hospital across the street. While speaking to the receptionist about his discomfort, he tragically passed away on the spot.
Actress Regina Chukwu also poured out her emotions, describing the late veteran as her boss and a genuine mentor. She thanked him for his invaluable advice and the role he played in her career, praying for his peaceful rest.
Heartbreakingly, the industry suffered yet another blow the same day Oloto’s death was announced — the loss of budding actress Omotola Odunsi, plunging the Yoruba Nollywood community into deeper mourning.
