Nollywood director Moses Inwang has opened up on why Nse Ikpe-Etim was the ideal choice to lead his latest film, Devil Is a Liar. The movie, now streaming on Netflix Naija, explores themes of love, betrayal, and the devastating consequences of unthinkable tragedy.
In an exclusive interview with NollyWire, Inwang revealed that casting Nse Ikpe-Etim was a decision driven by both talent and authenticity. Known for her versatility and compelling screen presence, Nse brings a depth to her roles that Inwang believed was essential for the film’s emotionally charged narrative.
“From the beginning, we wanted someone who could carry the complex emotional weight of this story,” Inwang said. “Nse was the natural choice because she embodies both strength and vulnerability in a way that makes her characters believable and relatable.”
Devil Is a Liar tells the story of a successful realtor whose life takes a dramatic turn when she falls in love with a charismatic younger man.
