Nigerian music superstar Davido has responded to the recent allegations of theft said to have occurred at his wedding.
Reports had circulated online that music executive Ubi Franklin, who attended the ceremony, was accused of stealing a luxury wristwatch. Ubi promptly issued a press statement denying the claims, and Davido publicly stood by him.
Taking to social media, Davido expressed that he and his wife, Chioma, were still basking in the joy of their big day. He stressed that no negative comments could diminish the beauty of the occasion.
In his words:
“We had an amazing Wedding, Perfect in fact! Me and my wife body still Dey sweet us like this. NOTHING UNA FIT DO SAY OR MAKE UP will never change the facts that we had a fairytale wedding! And one of the best days if not the best day of our lives! The whole world celebrated us.”
The white wedding took place on August 10th in Miami, with a star-studded guest list including Aliko Dangote, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Obi Cubana and his wife, D’banj and his wife, Uche Jombo, and Zlatan with his wife, among others.
During their vows, Chioma described Davido as *“my love, best friend, and the calm in my storm”*, pledging to walk with him forever and always hold his hand. Davido, in turn, called Chioma his *“love, peace, and hope”*, noting that she came into his life quietly but became “the loudest.” He also stated that she saw his true self and still chose him, calling her his *“best friend, healer, and calm in the storm,”* and affirming that God brought her into his life to show her unconditional love.
Speaking in an interview with Noire TV Network at her bridal shower, Chioma dismissed claims that Davido does not support her ambitions. She revealed that he often asks about her dreams and that they have plans lined up for the coming months.
Davido and Chioma’s relationship has been widely admired, with many describing it as inspiring. Over the years, their love has endured major challenges — from the tragic loss of their son to publicized cheating scandals — yet the couple has remained committed to each other.
