Sheila Courage, the estranged wife of logistics manager Israel DMW, is celebrating a personal milestone—buying her first car.
Sharing photos of herself with the new vehicle on Instagram, Sheila reflected on a time when she had everything she wanted but felt an emptiness that left her depressed. She revealed that true joy only returned when she rekindled her relationship with God.
“Got my first car about a month ago. I’m a storyteller, and I would take this chance to tell a story of how nothing makes sense without God. I found myself at a point I had all I wanted, but I felt so empty! It was depressing, and nothing brought me the joy I once knew until it clicked that what was missing was my relationship with God; it had gone so cold, not absent but not the same, not better, sour. Long story short, my joy is restored! God reached out to me, and I ran to him desperately. I got counsel from my pastor and mum, and it’s been better,” she wrote.
Sheila further shared that she is now approaching her faith intentionally and consistently, emphasizing that a walk with God is rooted in knowledge, not just emotions.
“I told myself my walk with God isn’t going to be performative; it’s a journey meant to last forever, so imma take it a day at a time consistently. And my pastor said something, walking with God isn’t about your emotions, but is based on knowledge! You don’t need to feel it. In essence, if e dey e dey, if e didn’t dey, it didn’t dey,” she added.
Encouraging others, Sheila reminded her followers that no one is too broken or lost for God to work wonders in their lives.
“Now this is for someone, you’re not too damaged! Too broken! Too far lost, gone for God to reach and do wonders with! He loves you even in your mess, so let him turn that mess into a message. Go back to the potters’ house,” she wrote.
Sheila also added a humorous note about her car, saying, “Lastly, my caption for my car was going to be ‘if you see me drive by comot for road I be leaner,’ but yo I ain’t no leaner no more o I dey match am well.”
