Nollywood star Regina Daniels has celebrated her senior colleague, Mercy Johnson, with a heartfelt tribute as the veteran actress turns 41.
Taking to Instagram, Regina admitted she was at a loss for words, describing the past year as one filled with joy, emotions, and memorable moments. She emphasized the strong bond they share, noting how mutual their love and respect are.
According to Regina, if she had to capture Mercy Johnson in just one word, it would be “amazing.” She praised her colleague as not only a remarkable woman but also a mother, wife, and attentive listener. Daniels further showered prayers on her while expressing gratitude for Johnson’s constant support.
She wrote:
“Whew!!! It’s my Queen’s special day. @mercyjohnsonokojie Mummy, for the first time in years, I’m truly short of words. Maybe it’s because this past year has carried so much joy, emotions, and everything in between. But what remains undeniable is the depth of love we share, especially knowing you know how deeply I love you, I also know how endlessly you love me, and the world can feel it too.
If I had to choose one word to describe you, it would be AMAZING. You’re an amazing woman, a mother, a wife, and above all, a listener, which makes me honoured to also call you my friend. I pray God continues to preserve you for all of us, because the world will shine brighter with the likes of you in it. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me, mummy, so much of which will forever remain unseen by the world. I love you, Mummyyy forever !!!!! And a happy 14th Anniversary to the best wife and companion to my dearest sir! @princeodiokojie May the love and joy you share remain undefeated in this life and the next.”
The actresses have long enjoyed a close relationship that goes beyond movie sets. Though they reportedly fell out years back over Regina’s marriage decisions—after Mercy advised her to focus more on her career first—the two reconciled in 2022 and have since maintained a strong bond.
In fact, earlier this year, Regina publicly defended Mercy Johnson during an online spat with Angela Okorie, stressing that neither she nor Mercy is quick to forgive once crossed.
