Beninese international footballer and husband of Nollywood actress Bose Alao, Razak Omotoyosi, has been buried.
A few days ago, reports confirmed that the actress lost her husband, who passed away in Benin at the age of 38. On Thursday, August 21, 2025, he was laid to rest at his residence, where friends, family, and supporters gathered to bid him farewell.
In a video clip from the funeral, mourners were seen paying their last respects while Bose Alao, visibly heartbroken, wept as her husband was committed to the earth.
Just last month, the actress had spoken candidly about her marriage during an interview with Biola Bayo. She revealed that after a three-year separation, she unexpectedly found herself in the position of her husband’s side chick. Sharing one painful memory, she said a lady once picked up his phone when she called and insulted her as an “old taker,” a remark that deeply hurt her.
Back in 2018, Bose publicly announced the end of her marriage to Omotoyosi, alleging repeated incidents of domestic violence. However, in a turn of events, she later issued an apology to him, admitting she was wrong to have exposed their marital struggles. While acknowledging that domestic violence had indeed occurred, she admitted that she too bore some responsibility and revealed that both of them were seeking professional help.
Speaking to Punch at the time, the actress clarified that their union had not collapsed completely. “My marriage is still intact,” she stated, adding that she wanted to protect her family from public scrutiny while they attended therapy sessions to work on their relationship.
