Nigerian social media user and Ibom Air celebrity, Comfort Emmason, has once again found herself at the center of public attention following a recent outcry on Facebook. Emmason, who made headlines weeks ago after a viral altercation with an Ibom Air flight attendant over her refusal to switch off her mobile phone, has taken to social media to narrate her ordeal with men who allegedly exploit her vulnerability.

In her latest post, Emmason accused several men of using promises of financial assistance as bait, only to demand sexual favors in return. According to her, more than ninety percent of those who pledged to support her financially on social media eventually insisted that she meet them in hotel rooms before fulfilling their promises.

“Do I have to come to a hotel room before you help me?” she lamented. “Dear men, please do better!”

Her statement has since sparked fresh debate online, with many Nigerians recalling her earlier controversy with Ibom Air. During that incident, Emmason engaged in a heated argument with flight staff after refusing to comply with safety regulations by turning off her mobile device. The confrontation led to her being escorted off the flight, after which she alleged she was manhandled and publicly humiliated.

Now, Emmason says the backlash from the Ibom Air incident has made her a target for ridicule and manipulation, particularly from men who take advantage of her situation under the guise of offering help. Her latest outcry has reignited conversations about the exploitation of women on social media, the culture of transactional assistance, and the broader issue of harassment faced by women in both physical and digital spaces.

As the controversy continues, many Nigerians are divided—while some sympathize with Emmason and demand accountability from predatory men, others argue that her past actions have made her vulnerable to online mockery. Regardless, her story once again highlights the intersection of gender, power, and exploitation in Nigeria’s social media culture.
