Popular Nigerian relationship expert, Blessing CEO, has openly criticized the Lagos State Police Command following the arrest and detention of her fiancé, IVD (Ikechukwu Ogbonna), a well-known auto dealer. The incident, which reportedly took place at the airport while IVD was en route to Qatar, has sparked fresh controversy over the ongoing domestic violence case involving his late wife, Bimbo.

According to insider sources, IVD's arrest is allegedly linked to his failure to remain in the country while his court case is still unresolved. However, Blessing CEO insists that there is no travel ban placed on her fiancé and that he wouldn’t have publicized his travel plans if he were under any legal restriction.

“IVD never submitted any passport to the court. His passport was missing, and after two years, he processed a new one,” she said in a lengthy Instagram post. “There was no ban whatsoever on him. If there was, why would he make his travel public?”

She emphasized that IVD has been compliant with court proceedings over the last three years and questioned the motive behind detaining him over a short international trip.

“IVD has never jumped bail in three years of the ongoing case. Why would he run away over a 10-day trip that has a return ticket?” she asked. “This is a game of politics and dirty emotions, and I hope there is paperwork. I will question the law.”

Blessing CEO, whose real name is Blessing Okoro, also accused unnamed individuals of using their influence to unjustly detain IVD.

“Nobody arrested IVD. One man is using power to bully IVD. No case file, no statement—just said ‘Oga said hold him till Monday,’ so they locked him up. My question is: for what?”

She further alleged that the arrest is politically motivated and not rooted in the pursuit of justice.

“This is a tribal war; it has nothing to do with justice. And the state must be questioned. How come bloggers know everything the police don’t? I wonder how much that woman paid you, Oga.”

Calling on Lagos State authorities to intervene, Blessing CEO urged that IVD be released immediately and warned against gender-based bias in legal proceedings.

“Stop bullying IVD because he is a man. Stop intimidating him. Just because you couldn’t take his life, you are doing everything to intimidate him. This is an injustice. They have bullied him for over three years. Lagos State, please come into this before it gets messy.”

As of the time of writing, the Lagos State Police has not released an official statement regarding IVD’s arrest or the status of the case.
