Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has shared her excitement and plans for her daughter, Priscilla Ojo's child’s naming ceremony. The movie star, currently in Canada where Priscilla is set to deliver her first child with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, assured fans that a grand naming ceremony will hold in Lagos after the traditional omugwo period.
In a video posted on her Instagram page on Wednesday night, Iyabo playfully addressed her fans, saying:
“My people calm down. After Omugo, Ikomo in Lagos.”
Priscilla announced her pregnancy last month, sparking joyous reactions from fans and fellow celebrities alike. During her baby shower, Iyabo Ojo gave a heartfelt speech, expressing her hopes and prayers for her daughter’s marital journey. She declared that although her own marriage didn’t work, she had paid the price so that Priscilla’s union would flourish.
Speaking at the event, the actress also revealed her initial reluctance to host a baby shower, citing concerns over social media backlash. However, she changed her mind, stating that God’s blessings should never be hidden. She also urged mothers to break generational patterns by speaking positive affirmations into their children’s lives, warning against the belief in inherited misfortunes.
Iyabo was previously married to Mr. Ademidun Ojo, the father of her two children, Priscilla and Festus. Their marriage ended shortly after Festus’ birth. In a March interview with Seun Oloketuyi, Iyabo reflected on her journey, noting that she believes her children are now reaping the rewards of her sacrifices. She also shared that having children at a young age helps parents stay youthful.
Fans are now eagerly awaiting the lavish naming ceremony Iyabo has promised will take place in Lagos.
