Nollywood star Afeez Owo has shed light on his relationship with his wife, actress Mide Martins, while revisiting the much-talked-about rumors of their separation in 2016.
In an interview with Behind The List, Afeez revealed that the period marked the first and only major disagreement in their marriage, stressing that reconciliation was possible through God’s grace.
“There was a time rumours spread that my wife and I had separated. In truth, that was the first and only serious fight we’ve ever had in our marriage. Thankfully, we reconciled and came back together. I admit I didn’t handle it well. I scattered things, and at some point, I even thought, Is this how it’s going to end?” he confessed.
He further explained that the crisis worsened because it played out on social media instead of being resolved behind closed doors. “Social media made it worse because it was something we should have resolved privately. Out of anger, I left and stayed in a hotel for two days, while she went online saying I had abandoned her and the kids. But by God’s grace, we overcame it,” Afeez stated.
The actor concluded that, despite that turbulent moment, their marriage has continued to grow stronger.
