Popular Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck, has sparked online excitement after expressing admiration for the vocal talent of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
The rapper stated that he wished Wike was a musician, saying he believes the former Rivers State governor has the kind of voice that could produce musical hits.
Odumodublvck wrote, “I wish say Wike dey do music. I hear something in his vocals. I’m not joking.”
The rapper’s comment quickly drew reactions across social media, with many users recalling Wike’s long-standing association with live music bands during his time as governor from 2015 to 2023.
Even after his transition to Minister of the FCT, Wike maintained his musical flair, relocating his personal band to Abuja.
The band, known for viral tunes like ‘As E Dey Sweet Us’, ‘Agreement Is Agreement’, and ‘Biggie Man’, regularly performs at his official functions and public events.
Last month, while commissioning the collector road from Mabushi to the Judges’ Quarters in Katampe, Wike openly promised to increase the salaries of the band members. He noted that their work brings “vibrancy and cultural energy” to government events.
Odumodublvck’s praise seems to align with the perception of Wike as not only a politician with flair but also a public figure with deep interest in entertainment and cultural performance.
Whether or not Wike takes up music professionally, the buzz around his voice adds a new layer to his public image. For now, it remains clear that even among Nigeria’s youth and creatives, Wike’s unique presence continues to inspire conversation and admiration.
