A Nigerian woman has caused a stir online after candidly revealing that she is unfazed by her husband’s cheating habits, noting that his sexual appetite and responsibility as a provider make it easier for her to overlook his infidelity.
In a viral interview recently posted on Instagram, the unnamed woman opened up about her one-year marriage, shedding light on the emotional and mental boundaries she has set in order to maintain her peace of mind.
According to her, her husband has always been driven by sex—even while they were dating—and nothing has changed since they got married. She described him as a man who “does not joke with anything concerning sex,” often putting intimacy above most things.
“My husband is someone that will deny his wife just because of sex even when we were dating till now. He loves sex, he doesn’t joke with anything concerning sex,” she said.
However, despite his intense desire for physical intimacy and his addiction to cheating, she noted that he still maintains his role as a caring husband and son, prioritising his family and responsibilities.
“On the other hand, he puts his family first and is caring,” she added.
Rather than confront his cheating, the woman explained that she has made peace with the situation, stating that being the only woman in his life is not realistic. She believes avoiding confrontation is better for her health and peace of mind.
“As for that, I’m not complaining. I’m comfortable with it because I alone cannot have him to myself. One woman alone cannot be the one in charge. I tend to avoid some things in order not to have high BP of 180,” she revealed.
Her nonchalant attitude toward infidelity has drawn mixed reactions online. While some users praised her maturity and emotional restraint, others criticised her for normalising a toxic dynamic in her marriage.
Despite her husband’s extramarital affairs, she insists she has no issues as long as he continues to fulfill his financial duties to her and his family.
“I’m not bothered if I catch him cheating. It’s his money he’s spending. If he spends for his wife and parent,” she concluded.
The controversial comments have since triggered a wave of responses on social media, with many Nigerians debating the emotional cost of tolerance in modern marriages and the complicated dynamics between love, responsibility, and personal wellbeing.
