Nollywood star Eniola Badmus has condemned the rising trend of hate speech and death wishes on social media, urging Nigerians to embrace decency and unity regardless of political differences.
Taking to her Instagram page, the actress reacted strongly to a recent incident involving a social media influencer who allegedly wished death upon someone over political disagreements.
“It’s truly disheartening to see a social media influencer use their platform to wish death on anyone at all,” Eniola wrote. “No matter your political views, we must never let hate override our humanity.”
She went on to emphasize the importance of dialogue and national unity as tools for change rather than promoting division or violence.
“As Nigerians, we are better than this,” she stated. “If we want change, let it be through dialogue, truth, and unity – not violence or death wishes.”
Badmus ended her post with a clear message to all Nigerians: “Let’s choose decency over division.”
